Umbrella…Ella…Ella May 26, 2008

t’s now time to open up those umbrellas. it’s rainy season again here in the Philippines. It has been raining almost everyday.

I am getting sad because I don’t like rainy days. I actually hate rainy days. I can’t go out and have fun when it’s raining. Most of the things I love doing are outdoors. I also hate those muddy streets, soaking wet slippers and freaky thunders.

It may sound weird but when it’s raining, I have the tendency to feel sad and gloomy. I tend to remember the loneliest days of my life. And I just hate it!

However, what I enjoy about rainy days is still managing to be fashionable. It’s now time to open up those lovely umbrellas. Umbrellas could be as trendy and fashionable as flip flops worn during summer. And of course, it’s now time to brag those gorgeous jackets and coats. You could now look like the Hollywood stars.

Rain could not stop us from being as fashionable as ever!Ü

so love David Cook!Ü haha! I’m so happy with the votes of America for making David Cook the newest American Idol. It was the right to decision.

From the first time I’ve watched David in his audition, i already adored him. First, he’s so gorgeous. I just love his facial hair!Ü Then, I admired his husky voice than complements his look. I watched his Idol Journey. I have seen him evolved. he has improved a lot in his looks, style, singing and performance. He is also great in making his own rendition of songs he sings. And I would never forget, neither everyone else, his version of Mariah Carey’s “Always be my baby”. It was a risk taking performance. but it’s definitely worth a risk because it will always be remembered by everyone. As early as today, David Cook has created a name and image that will be loved not just by Americans but by the whole world.

David Cook is undoubtedly a superb singer. I knew it in my heart that he’ll make it big and even bigger. American Idol is just the start of his Idol Journey.

Life is really full of bias. Agree?

Whether we admit it or not, we are people-person. We care about what other people say about us. We want to look good not just to feel better about ourselves but to impress other people.

According to Aristotle, a person’s character is most important in being able to convince or persuade an audience or specific somebody. And he calls it ETHOS. Ethos is the feelings that we attach to a person. Aristotle, mentioned three factors of persuasion: Ethos, Logos and Pathos. Ethos is the character or credibility of the speaker. Logos is the logic or reasoning of the speaker. And Pathos is the emotional appeals used by the speaker.

Since Ethos, is subjective, it is created or defined by the listeners. So therefore, we should be sure to be a speaker with positive Ethos. This could be done by displaying adequate knowledge, being sincere, appearing well-groomed and personable and behaving with decorum.

With this, you’re sure to make people agree with what your saying.
